Ever After
So, I got married. Everyone told me that the day would go by so fast, and they were right. It was a whirlwind. Even now, three weeks later, I think back on that day, and it's a bit of a blur. I don't even know how to write about it. I suppose I could talk about how beautiful the barn was, how great the decorations turned out (thanks again, Stacy!), or about my gorgeous green-clad bridesmaids. I could talk about my dad going crazy dancing to "Play that Funky Music, White Boy," how great Greta, London and Ben did with the music during the ceremony, or about how fun/surreal it was to have so many people there from so many different parts of my life. But the two moments I will remember the most are centered around my groom (as they should be). I'll never forget the look on his face when he saw me in my dress for the first time before we started the photos. Nor will I forget seeing him with tears running down his face when my dad walked me down the aisle. Though the day was a bit of a beautiful blur, the important thing is that by the end of it, Matthew and I were married. And that makes me smile.
He then whisked me away on an amazing honeymoon to San Francisco. I'll write more about that trip (and post pictures) later.
We've been back in Bellevue for a couple weeks now, getting settled into married life. At home we've been hard at work unpacking and organizing the house, but we've also been enjoying the fun of Omaha in the summer. We were able to take in an awesome game at the College World Series; enjoyed Shakespeare on the Green with the Penningtons, Browns, and Charlotte; had a fun double date of Toy Story 3 (loved it!) and Stella's burgers with our new friends (and neighbors) the Glossers; got some goodies at the Omaha Farmers Market; and spent tonight (the 4th) shooting off fireworks with some of Matt's co-workers.
And now, without further ado, here are some of my favorite pictures from the wedding:
I love this picture of Matthew with his nieces, especially because he and Livia (on the left), have the exact same facial expression!
